I&#8217;m Hatanaka, Questetra&#8217;s CTO.<\/p>\n<p>At the end of the previous blog post <a href=\"https:\/\/support.questetra.com\/en\/developer-blog\/receive-task-form-webhook-twilio\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Phone Number Verification through Web Form Application<\/a>, I mentioned that<\/p>\n<blockquote>\n<p>Some may say that if I specialize in mobile phone numbers, SMS is enough rather than a phone call.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p><blockquote class=\"wp-embedded-content\" data-secret=\"v4hda526Yg\"><a href=\"https:\/\/support.questetra.com\/en\/developer-blog\/receive-task-form-webhook-twilio\/\">Phone Number Verification through Web Form Application<\/a><\/blockquote><iframe loading=\"lazy\" class=\"wp-embedded-content\" sandbox=\"allow-scripts\" security=\"restricted\" style=\"position: absolute; clip: rect(1px, 1px, 1px, 1px);\" title=\"&#8220;Phone Number Verification through Web Form Application&#8221; &#8212; Questetra Support\" src=\"https:\/\/support.questetra.com\/developer-blog\/receive-task-form-webhook-twilio\/embed\/#?secret=xAO3ltxGHS#?secret=v4hda526Yg\" data-secret=\"v4hda526Yg\" width=\"500\" height=\"282\" frameborder=\"0\" marginwidth=\"0\" marginheight=\"0\" scrolling=\"no\"><\/iframe><\/p>\n<p>Since <a href=\"https:\/\/www.twilio.com\/\">Twilio<\/a> can also handle SMS, this time I&#8217;d like to work on sending an SMS.<\/p>\n<p>To do so, I will utilize Twilio&#8217;s SMS API.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.twilio.com\/docs\/sms\/api#send-an-sms-with-the-sms-api\">Programmable SMS: Send an SMS with the SMS API<\/a><\/p>\n<p>I needed two steps for the API to make a phone call, but this can be achieved in one step. Simple.<\/p>\n<p>Just send a POST request for a specific URL, including the following parameters.<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Source number<\/li>\n<li>Destination telephone number<\/li>\n<li>Contents<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>However, there are caveats in the phone numbers that can be used. Such as, an SMS cannot be sent with a Japanese telephone number that can be purchased on Twilio. Therefore, I need to purchase a non-Japanese phone number that is capable of sending an SMS to Japan. Depending on the country there may be cases where even though you can use SMS, it is only capable of sending to numbers in the same country. In the settings of the mobile phone\/smartphone receiving the SMS, it could be set to not receive SMS from overseas. <span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">It\u2019s also possible this could be in the phone company\u2019s settings and not the actual device settings<\/span>. In that case, an SMS sent from this Workflow App cannot be received because the SMS isn&#8217;t from Japan.<\/p>\n<p>That&#8217;s it for today.
