System Settings – Collab Chat

Overview

You can set the authority to create channels in Collab Chat. It is possible to configure Channel Creators and Channel Administrators. Channel Creator authorization is subdivided into Public Channel Creators and Private Channel Creators.

Channel Creators

Add a specific user

  • User *
    • mode_edit_outline (Search for a user) / search (Search) / emoji_emotions (Select yourself) / account_tree (Select from Organization Tree) / close (Clear)

Add users related to a specific organization

  • Organization *
    • mode_edit_outline (Search for an organization) / search (Search) / emoji_emotions (Select your main Organization) / account_tree (Select from Organization Tree) / close (Clear)
  • Target*
    • check_circle Members of
    • check_circle Members in sub organizations of
  • Position
    • arrow_drop_down (N/A) / (With Position) / (No Position) / (Registered Position name)

Add users of specific role

  • Role *
    • mode_edit_outline (Search for a role) / search (Search) / close (Clear)

Notes

  • Users with Channel Creator authorization can create new channels in Collab Chat by visiting the [format_list_bulletedUser Created Channel List] in the side menu.
    • When creating a new channel, the creator must specify the following:
      • The channel name
      • The channel visibility (i.e. if it is public or private)
  • Users can freely join or leave public channels by holding the cursor over the specified channel in the [User Created Channel List], and clicking the [login Join] or [logout Leave] icon.

Notes

  • Private channel membership can only be determined by the Channel Administrator(s).
    • You will only be able to see private channels of which you are a member in the [User Created Channel List].
